NEW TEAM MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT!
CFPT would like to welcome Stephanie Turner to the team as our Research Consultant!
Stephanie is a medical researcher within the field of concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College of Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, TX in 2014. She continued on at TCU to earn her Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology in 2016. Her research efforts have always centered around neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, with undergraduate research efforts focused on the intersection of inflammation in Alzheimer’s disease and the mediating role of exercise, followed by more clinically-oriented graduate work in sports-related concussion both in pediatric and NCAA athletes. Currently, Stephanie works for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), which is the TBI Center of Excellence for the Defense Health Agency and TBI Pathway of Care manager for the U.S. Military Health System. Her work formerly as the Science Writer/Research Analyst and currently as the Research Portfolio Manager supports the management of active studies in the DVBIC research portfolio as well as the development of knowledge products to translate the most current findings into communicable content for the broader scientific and clinical communities. Stephanie is joining the team as our Research Consultant to disseminate the latest published, peer-reviewed research findings and support the translation of those findings into evidence-based practice.
